Very much in the English Arts and Crafts style and yet with a surface highly decorated in what is known as Sorrento work. Sorrento is a charming old-fashioned town overlooking the Bay of Naples and was associated with a school of furniture making in the 19th century which produced highly decorative work as well as souvenirs for visitors.
