Whenever pieces of furniture shaped like this come on the market, serious furniture collectors would come to life and show excitement. Partly because the making of rounded edges is always more complicated than straight lines and hence the name kidney shaped. Mid 19th century or possibly slightly earlier and looking a little French. It was however made in England and comes straight from a private collection.
